National Nordic Museum

The only museum in the United States dedicated to the entire Nordic region, encompassing Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and Åland. Opened in its 57,875-square-foot purpose-built building in May 2018 in Ballard, the museum traces Nordic themes of connection to nature, sustainability, social justice, and innovation across 12,000 years. Includes a Cultural Resource Center with the Walter Johnson Memorial Library holding 15,500 books in Nordic languages.
